The King & Bear, named respectively for its co-designers Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus, opened in 2000 with a ceremonial exhibition between its namesakes. This, 7,279-yard course is the first-and-only course design collaboration between these two golf greats, whose careers have been enhanced by their friendship and competition. The pair set out to create a playable and picturesque course with memorable par 5’s amid lakes, loblolly pines and 200-year-old live oaks.
